The Coastal Plain Research Arboretum (38 acres) is an arboretum located on the grounds of the Tifton (GA) Campus of the University of Georgia. The arboretum was established in 1987, with plant development and selection starting in 1991. It consists of stream-side forest and wetland, and is dedicated to native plant species of the Georgia Coastal Plain.

The Georgia Perimeter College Botanical Garden is a 4 acre botanical garden located on the Decatur Campus of the Georgia Perimeter College. There are two gardens located here, the Native Plant Garden and the Ferns of the World Garden. It now contains over 4,000 species of native, rare, and endangered plants indigenous to the American Southeast.

Augusta Botanical Gardens
The Augusta Botanical Gardens, formerly the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame Botanical Gardens is a 17 acre botanical garden located in downtown Augusta, Georgia. The Georgia Golf Hall of Fame closed the gardens because of financial problems. It re-opened on January 2008.

The Fred Hamilton Rhododendron Garden is a botanical garden specializing in rhododendrons, located within the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. It boasts one of the largest collections of hybrid rhododendrons in the state of Georgia. The Garden now contains more than 3,000 hybrid rhododendrons, it is laid out on a hillside sloping to Lake Chatuge.

Lockerly Arboretum is a private, nonprofit 50 acre arboretum located on Milledgeville, Georgia. The Arboretum has hiking and driving trails throughout the property. The arboretum is a horticultural laboratory, with collections of azalea, camelia, conifers, holly, rhododendron, and viburnum, as well as daylily, iris, and a greenhouse for cactus and tropical plants.
