Question…. We used leaf mulch last fall on our raised beds after chopping up with the lawn mower…… Should we turn/till into the soil or remove it before planting this spring?? Leaves are from Maples.
Thanks much.

You can do either one: till the leaves into the soil or leave the shredded leaves on top as mulch. Keep in mind these two things:
1. Leaves are high in carbon. You might want to add some nitrogen to the soil when planting with an organic fertilizer. Grass clippings with the leaves, too, in the long run would add a little nitrogen to your soil.
2. Also, remember that the leaves could lower the soil temperature. So, before you plant you may need to rake the leaf mulch back to let the soil warm a bit.
Rabbits have eatten the tops (middle) out of every Broccoli we have in the garden. Will Broccoli come back ? The broccoli is very tall (about 2 Ft. tall) and was just damaged by the rabbits. I am not a happy camper.
